Our passion for organics goes beyond organic month! We're excited to share the incredible experience our MadeGood team had in Alberta and Saskatchewan this past summer, where we participated in the annual field day for the Regenerative Organic Oats (ROO) project. This initiative, led by Canadian Organic Growers— in partnership with Riverside, Bay State Milling, MGM Seed & Grain and Nature’s Path, is a game-changer for sustainable agriculture, and we're proud to be a part of it. During our trip, we saw firsthand the impact of regenerative farming practices on the land and crops. These practices not only enhance soil health, but also contribute to a healthier planet. We're thrilled to have found such excellent partners at the University of Lima's Red Peruana Ciclo de Vida y Ecología Industrial PELCAN institute who could support our desire to better understand the real impacts of our unique #organic #chocolate coming out of Peru. In collaboration with our partners at Machu Picchu Foods and their Nuwa Muun project, which is composed exclusively of women-owned cocoa farms across their #organic grower network, we were able to generate primary LCA data and share our results at LCA FOOD 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. However, this is just the first step! We are now exploring different ways to action against the insights gleaned from this analysis, specifically exploring how we can support more prolific cocoa pod composting practices in South American agroforestry systems. We are thrilled to announce that our GOOD TO GO brand has joined The Almond Project (TAP)! TAP is a farmer-led initiative engaging partners across the almond value chain aimed at identifying improved farming methods for a more resilient and nutritious future for almonds. We make no secret that our super tasty, high-fibre GOOD TO GO Snacks contain at least 16 almonds per pouch, so it’s crucial for us to both understand and then address issues around almond farming, such as how to manage water use responsibly, and improve impacts on soil and pollinator health. GOOD TO GO will support TAP’s newest project, testing the nutrient density of almonds using different farming methods. We are eager to learn more and share this journey with you!
