New Year, New Store Opening! 

Marc Jacobs is excited to announce the first new store opening of 2024, our Yorkdale boutique in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 

We look forward to welcoming back our associates and thank all teams involved in bringing this store to life.

Tell us about your path at Marc Jacobs!
I joined the company in August 2017 upon my move to NYC and have been at MJ ever since! I joined the company as an assistant buyer on the global retail team overseeing footwear and watches. A year later, I was promoted to Merchandiser – Global Retail Buying, overseeing footwear, jewelry, and licensed categories (fragrance, watches, eyewear, beauty, and Little Marc Jacobs). In my current role as Senior Retail Merchandiser – Accessories, I oversee buying for all full-price and e-commerce categories globally since August 2021. 

What is one of your proudest moments at MJ? 
My proudest moment at MJ was opening the 50th store in North America. When I joined in August 2017, we only had 9 stores in the country. It has been an honor to take part in the growth and expansion of our North America store network over the past few years. 

What is your favorite thing about working at MJ?
I love the entrepreneurial spirit at Marc Jacobs! Everyone gets to wear so many hats and take on a higher level of responsibility, it makes it feel like a small company where I know everyone. Our fast pace of innovation is also something I really enjoy. 

What is a fun fact about you? 
I am very passionate about the wine industry, which inspired me to get my WSET Level 1 and 2 certifications. I have really enjoyed the learning process, and eventually want to pass the next 2 levels! 

What’s your favorite MJ product? 
My blue faux fur coat from Fall 2018 inspired by the runway show. My favorite part about NYC winters is bringing this coat out of my closet that keeps me so warm!

Over the past 6 weeks, 22 Marc Jacobs employees played in the Season 2 Intramural Kickball Team, where they had a blast going head-to-head with 5 other teams in the league, while building connections outside of work. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the games and to those who made this season possible.

This past month, Marc Jacobs hosted its Store Manager Conferences across North America! Our teams gathered in New York City, Dallas, San Diego, and Miami to celebrate their accomplishments while looking ahead to 2024. The Store Managers enjoyed team building activities, participated in discussions with corporate partners, as well as reviewed key strategies and initiatives with their regional leaders. We celebrate our dedicated Store Managers and thank all those involved for their efforts in putting these events together.

This month, Marc Jacobs had the incredible opportunity to participate in the National Black MBA Association in Philadelphia, where we joined forces with fellow maisons from LVMH. Our Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition, Mishaal Anwar, had the privilege of representing our brand, spreading our passion, and contributing to our unwavering commitment to fortify our belief in the profound impact of diversity and inclusion.

Witnessing the passion and determination that each attendee offered as they shared their career aspirations was nothing short of inspiring. The energy and enthusiasm emanating from all attendees were undeniably remarkable!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the event and expressed interest in learning more about our company and the exciting opportunities within our teams.

Marc Jacobs joined in the fun for LVMH's inaugural Intern Day, an exciting event bringing together over 150 bright young minds from 15 celebrated Maisons for a day of engaging discussions, professional development, and career exploration led by established professionals from LVMH’s teams.

Following these programs, we had the chance to connect with many of the attendees through an immersive session led by Rob Williamson-Noble on our brand history, values, and core product codes, giving them a chance to try on and learn more about our products firsthand, and find out more about career opportunities with us.

Thank you Jasmine Humphrey and everyone else at LVMH that helped make the event such a success, and for connecting us with these great talents who will help shape the future of our industry!
