Today M&S has taken another step towards meeting our Plan A commitment of removing 1 billion units of plastic by 2027 with the introduction of paper packaging for our single and twin garlic baguettes!

Estimated to remove 5.5 million units of plastic from our business every year, the new FSC approved packaging can easily be recycled as paper at home.

Have you heard of #StraightToStuart? 
 
It’s our award-winning colleague suggestion scheme which allows our 65,000 colleagues to submit their ideas for improving M&S straight to our CEO Stuart Machin. To date, around 500 ideas have been given a YES and subsequently implemented around the business, helping to make M&S a better place to work and shop.
 
One of the latest ideas came from Ben Hunter, who spotted an opportunity to improve our Back to School campaign whilst working in-store getting closer to customers. After noticing how many parents would hold up a pair of school trousers next to their child to see how they look for size, Ben suggested introducing a dedicated measuring chart to help customers pick out the right size. This was given a YES, and these charts are now live in 251 stores across the UK as part of our new Back to School Fit Zones!
 
Well done Ben for helping make M&S a better place to shop for our customers!

We are incredibly proud to be the first UK high street retailer to launch a range of stoma knickers.

Over 200,000 people in the UK are living with a stoma and as the UK market leader in lingerie we have a responsibility to ensure our products are accessible and inclusive.
 
Working closely with Colostomy UK as well as our colleagues and customers living with stomas, we’ve been able to develop our first stoma knicker range. Now our customers living with stomas can shop with confidence at M&S.

M&S Launches Exclusive Kidswear Collection with The Doodle Boy! 

Joe Whale, aka The Doodle Boy, is known for turning everyday moments into playful works of art and in recent years has become a viral sensation on social media. Today we have launched a 13-piece collection of versatile kids daywear items, featuring his signature doodles, with all profits going to our charity partner YoungMinds, the leading mental health charity for young people. 

The collection includes varsity style bomber jackets, relaxed cotton t-shirts, shorts, joggers and sports-style socks, perfect for the everyday. Our brand new store in Stockbridge, Edinburgh is open! 

This is our 11th store in the Scottish capital, building on our over £30million investment in our Scottish stores. The 2,800 sq. ft convenience store features an in-store bakery, Click & Collect point, our Slow Cooked Dine In and a range of fresh produce. We’re proud to work with over 2,500 Select Farm partners across Scotland. 

Store Manager Paul Donnelly said: “We are thrilled to officially open our brand-new convenience store in Stockbridge, Edinburgh today.
