Our new CFO Christian Hammel, together with our new CIO Markus Fichtinger and Tobias Sedlmeier, Group VP Finance and Accounting, hosted our first Pizza Day of 2024 in our Mannheim office. 

As newcomers to the Master Builders Solutions leadership team, it was a great opportunity to get to know each other and hear their first impressions of the company…in one word: “AWESOME”. Are admixtures ready for Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3)?
 
Our researchers recently teamed up with Heidelberg Materials to investigate a large array of calcined clays in different LC3 systems, ranging from 65% to 35% of clinker content. 

We identified the importance of the relationship between the specific surface area of calcined clays and the admixture dosage, and uncovered a bit more in the process. These findings are key to understand and design low carbon cement systems based on calcined clays. 

Our new admixture range for low clinker concrete, MasterCO2re, showed remarkable slump retention in all systems.
