Thanks to Wharton Fintech for hosting a special conversation with Carlos Netto and Wesley Aster . ◾️Carlos shares his unique perspective on the rise of Fintechs in Brazil and the factors that contributed to the success of Pix. ◾️By focusing on the latest, most modern tech, Carlos and team have been well positioned to take advantage of this incredible financial services evolution. ◾️When Pix launched, it was clear that Core banking systems were not designed for the level of stress that comes with 24 X 7 X 365 demands. ◾️Digital Twin - software that enables "always on" transaction authorization - was created to help banks deliver around-the-clock digital experiences. ◾️Thanks to Brazil's QR Code standard, consumers can easily pay businesses instantly. A QR Code standard is being developed in the U.S. too. ◾️As for Pix - volume is poised to increase. Consumers will soon be able to set up recurring Pix payments with their favorite services and e-commerce sites like Netflix and Amazon . They will be able to "tap and Pix" via NFC - same user experience as #applepay . There were an estimated 5.5 billion Pix transactions in Sept 2024 - 41% more than Sept 2023 ✅ Impressive growth in QR Codes as a form of initiation. 44% of Pix transactions per month (2.3 Billion) are initiated by someone scanning a QR Code - this is equal the percent of Pix transactions that start by sharing an alias! ✅ Recent Bank for International Settlements paper highlights Pix for its remarkable success in instant payment adoption ✅ Central Bank of Brazil is accelerating efforts to enable 𝐏𝐢𝐱 𝐛𝐲 𝐍𝐅𝐂 ✅ Pix Automatic (e.g. recurring payments) is scheduled to launch June 2025 - there are 4 ways these Pix payments can be established ✅ Central Bank continues to work to keep fraud low - fraud flags tracked in their Directory can prevent accounts from sending/receiving Pix ✅ Limits are being imposed on the amount of money that can be sent via Pix before a new device is registered with a financial institution 👇 https://lnkd.in/gktkcPDk
