M&A activity is heating up in Canada! Just today we saw Hamilton Thorne and Sleep Country announce they have agreed to be acquired at material premiums to their recent share prices. We think there is more to come... We've been writing about the coming "𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵" for a while now. And you're seeing it mentioned more and more in the financial media of late - being referred to as the '𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯' from large caps to small caps. Here's an excerpt from our Q1 commentary a few months ago: As investors search for value and opportunity beyond the Magnificent Seven, small and mid-capitalization companies have begun to show some life. Recall that while almost everything lagged the mega cap growth theme, the share prices of smaller companies suffered disproportionately from investor disinterest and capital outflows because, as a group, they are perceived to be more sensitive to the economy, inflation, and interest rates. This dynamic, as we have covered in previous commentaries, has resulted in many quality companies trading at attractive absolute and relative valuations.
