MaxFi (Maximum Fidelity Surgical Simulations), a St. Louis-based company specializing in creating lifelike cadavers for highly realistic surgical simulations in medical education, has secured $2.25 million in Seed funding. The investment round was spearheaded by St. Louis Arch Angels, with participation from BioGenerator Ventures and Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC). With this new capital injection, MaxFi aims to broaden its operations and intensify its development initiatives, potentially revolutionizing the field of medical training through advanced simulation technologies.

According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, the US Department of Defense currently uses approximately 9,000 pigs annually to train Army medics, Navy corpsmen, and Air Force personnel in responding to battlefield injuries. 
 
⚕ As military medicine evolves beyond traditional animal models, MaxFi offers a cutting-edge solution for training combat medics. Our innovative circulatory restoration process, involving the removal of debris and clots, precise instrumentation of the vasculature, and connection to a perfusing circuit with a pulsatile pump, creates a warm cadaver with a pulse, exhibiting life-like qualities for up to two weeks. Our unique use of a pulsatile pump replicates realistic blood loss in a human context, providing a highly accurate representation of physiological responses and challenges faced in actual battlefield conditions.
 
👨‍⚕️ MaxFi customizes cadaver preparation to meet specific training needs, such as enhancing blood flow in the head or reanimating heart valve functions, even incorporating breathing cadavers and vocal simulations for field combat scenarios. Our advanced approach provides a highly accurate representation of physiological responses and battlefield conditions, significantly improving the readiness of medics to handle critical situations.
