Medlior is excited to share a new #RWE publication in the Canadian Journal of Respiratory, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. 🔎 This study examined biomarker variability in patients with severe asthma in Alberta, Canada. The study was sponsored by AstraZeneca Canada and conducted in collaboration with clinical advisors, AstraZeneca Canada and Medlior. 📊 The study found that patients demonstrated biomarker variability with repeat testing, and elevated biomarker levels were associated with higher exacerbation rates. Furthermore, biologics showed real-world effectiveness in reducing severe asthma biomarkers. Taken together, these results highlight the importance of biomarker testing in the management of severe asthma. We are proud to share that our research abstract has been recognized as a Top 5% Finalist for the ISPOR Europe 2024 Research Presentation Awards! Our abstract, titled "Benefits of Inhaled Corticosteroids (ICS) in COPD Maintenance Combinations: Real-World Evidence Using Longitudinal Targeted Maximum Likelihood Estimation ( #TMLE )," presents compelling evidence of the benefits of ICS-containing COPD maintenance therapy. By utilizing advanced TMLE methodology, we successfully addressed the limitations of previous analyses that struggled to replicate clinical trial results.
