The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a key driver for the Middle East region’s growing status as a hub for digital assets. The UAE’s share in the global crypto market surged by 500% between July 2020 and June 2021, reaching over US$25 billion in transaction value.

It is a momentous day for the entire digital assets’ ecosystem as the Bitcoin Spot Electronic Trading Product approvals in the United States are likely to enable broader participation. Certain other markets are well-poised to become hubs that leverage this development. One such market is Hong Kong.
