We started with a question: “What if we could engineer therapeutics to trigger the desired biological response in a programmable way?”  
 
In nature, creatures have evolved to mimic each other for adaptive advantage. Take the owl butterfly, a physically vulnerable creature whose wings harness the power of an owl just by mimicking the image of the predator’s eye. We challenged ourselves to see how biomimicry could be applied to therapeutics, at a molecular level.  
 
Today, we introduce Metaphore Biotechnologies, founded by Flagship Pioneering as the answer to that challenge. We built Metaphore around the MIMiC™ platform, a premier computationally driven bioplatform designing new therapeutics where function, specificity, and selectivity can be optimized.  
 
We aspire to make therapeutics that outperform today’s drugs and reach patients with few or no therapeutic options. And we invite you to follow us as we go on that journey.
