METLEN Energy & Metals are delighted that Ofgem have now officially awarded a £2 billion funding package for EGL1 to build a proposed new subsea and underground 196km cable between Scotland and the north of England which will help boost energy security, cut bills and hit Government green targets in the UK. Earlier this year METLEN Energy & Metals, as part of a consortium with GE Vernova , were awarded a £1bn contract to help construct EGL1 which is a National Grid Energy Transmission and SP Transmission joint venture. This Joint Venture will provide and build two High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converter stations for EGL1 and the innovative HVDC system, based on Voltage-Sourced technology, will enable the transmission of renewable green energy to power over two million homes across the UK thereby supporting the UK’s efforts for decarbonisation and security of supply. #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #UK

We are pleased to announce the completion of another green energy project. The solar farm in Gorey, Ireland has an installed capacity of 7.3 MWp and will displace more than 3,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. At METLEN Energy & Metals, we are committed to working together for a sustainable future.

On November 11th, the grand concert of Stavros Xarchakos took place at the Acropolis Museum. METLEN Energy & Metals supports the Maestro at every stop of his tour, "Α Journey into the Light", a series of concerts across Greece that highlight the timelessness of Greek cultural heritage. The event was honored with the presence of Eleni Glykatzi-Ahrweiler, Byzantinologist and Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF .

METLEN Energy & Metals is further consolidating its market position in Spain. The company is pleased to announce the start of a new collaboration with Cero Generation. The collaboration is focusing on the construction of three significant photovoltaic projects in Castilla y Leon. The projects are expected to create more than 150 jobs and will provide "green" energy annually, sufficient to power nearly 100 thousand homes. Nikos Papapetrou, Executive Director of M Renewables of METLEN Energy & Metals, spoke of the importance of this partnership, both for the continuation of the company's successful course in the Iberian Peninsula and for the achievement of the environmental goals set. On November 8, Sofoklis Karapidakis , Compliance Director and Data Protection Officer at Metlen Energy & Metals, participated in the 25th Corporate Fraud & Corruption Forum in Amsterdam. In his presentation, "Whistleblowing and Investigations from the Perspective of ISO Certification", he examined how the effectiveness and credibility of whistleblowing and investigative processes are strengthened, through ISO certification frameworks. His speech offered valuable insights into maintaining ethical standards and ensuring accountability.

METLEN Energy & Metals participated in the Toronto Economic Forum held on November 7. In his speech, Luis Laguna , Regional CEO for North America, spoke about our investments in the solar energy sector in Canada. He mentioned that the company’s presence in Canada began last year with the acquisition of 1.4 GW of solar projects in Alberta. Our portfolio includes five solar projects supported by an investment of 2.2 billion CAD. These projects will create approximately 1,560 jobs during construction and 115 permanent jobs once they are operational, reinforcing the company's commitment to the economic development of the region. Vivian Bouzali , our Chief Corporate Affairs and Communication Officer, stated that Canada is a significant milestone for METLEN Energy & Metals, as the company enters North America with the goal of providing sustainable solutions.
