Milestone Pharmaceuticals Inc. #DYK that the prevalence of atrial fibrillation (AFib) is expected to grow to approximately 10 million by 2025 and up to about 12 million by 2030, according to the American Heart Association? 
 
Recently at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions 2023, we presented positive results from our ReVeRA Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating etripamil in AFib with rapid ventricular rate (AFib-RVR), a serious condition which presents in a subset of AFib patients, and is characterized by more severe episodic symptoms including heart palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, and/or weakness. 
 
One of the study investigators, Dr. James Ip from Weill Cornell Medicine, sat down with HCPLive to discuss the unmet needs for patients with AFib-RVR and the potential of etripamil nasal spray.

As part of a Featured Scientific Session at the @American Heart Association, today, we presented positive results from our ReVeRA Phase 2 clinical study of etripamil in AFib-RVR. The results were also simultaneously published in Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology.
 
Patients with AFib-RVR continue to face a significant unmet need and our market research data suggests 30-40 percent of patients with AFib experience one or more symptomatic episodes of AFib-RVR requiring treatment. 
 
At Milestone, we are committed to helping improve the lives of people living with cardiovascular conditions. We plan to share an update on the continued development of self-administered etripamil nasal spray for AFib-RVR in the coming weeks.
