It is a pleasure to speak with Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), building India's first and fastest regional #rail transit system (#RapidX). #NCRTC is mandated for designing, developing, implementing, financing, operating, and maintaining the RRTS project. He has built #NCRTC from scratch and is now spearheading the development of the idea into a reality through this $15 billion project. Before joining NCRTC, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) 🚅, where he played a key role in developing the Mumbai-Ahmedab ad HSR project. Having served as Executive Director in the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, he has experience working on the Board of many joint venture companies and has acquired a profound policy perspective. He has been the officer in charge of the execution team of the first section of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation 🚉  project in the field.

Regional Rapid Transit System (#RRTS) projects in the National Capital Region of India is connecting 3 major satellite cities with the capital city – Meerut (82 km), Alwar (198 km) and Panipat (103 km). 

The first corridor from Delhi to Meerut is under construction, costing $5 billion in investment. #RapidX has adopted an outsourcing model and has appointed Deutsche Bahn for operation and maintenance. The agency is using many innovative technologies to build the project, including #BIM (Building Information Modelling) 🏦 , #Digitaltwins 🌏 , Precasted #Tracks, Catenary (#Rigid), #Rolling stocks 🚄 , and UPI #ticketing solutions 📲 .

Many countries around the world are looking to invest in #hydrogen infrastructure. China unveiled the country’s first medium- to long-term (2021-2035) #hydrogen development plan. 💧 ⚡ 

#China had earlier offered a big subsidy for the purchase of #electricvehicles which helped to push the sales of the vehicles. In May 2023, the country unveiled the new $72 billion #tax break for clean vehicles, include all-battery EVs ⚡, plug-in petrol-electric hybrids 🔌 and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles 💧 (https://lnkd.in/e2G5AcZ5)

#China currently offers 240,000 yuan (US$33,947) for every hydrogen-powered #car and up to 400,000 yuan for #trucks (Link: https://lnkd.in/gGVPXj_S). However, the sale of #fuelcell car 🚗 is slow and there is more adoption by #commercial vehicles 🚌 🚚. 

The strategic plan will help the country to build the necessary infrastructure. The country is looking to increase the production of #greenhydrogen.

Hydrogen can be labeled differently depending on the source from which it is produced:

#Grayhydrogen: Derived from natural gas and produced from fossil fuels

#bluehydrogen: Derived from natural gas through the process of steam methane reforming

#greenhydrogen: Produced in a climate-neutral manner that could reduce emissions.

#Batteryhealth monitoring is emerging as a new #market segment as each battery pack behaves differently. It will be important to monitor the behavior in real-time to prevent failure.
