We've been working tirelessly over the past few years in complex European markets to ensure that Monta’s technology and product suite enable the seamless transition to electrification. We’re particularly eager to talk to Solution Providers, including power utilities, charge point operators (#CPOs), fleets, wholesalers, and installers looking for the ultimate platform to power their EV charging operations. 🔋

You don’t need to guess what'll happen in the future of EV charging infrastructure! 😎 We’re attending EV Charging and Infrastructure in London today and tomorrow (15-16 April)! 📅 

Here, we’re meeting with leading automotive and charge point manufacturers, grid operators, and policymakers to discuss how Monta’s technology helps our partners go and stay electric as the world transitions from ICE vehicles! 🔌

⚡According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), EVs had a 4% share of the global car market in 2020, a 14% share in 2022, and are expected to have an 18% share in 2023. On top of this, the European Automobile Manufacturers'​ Association (ACEA) has also reported that at least 6.8 million chargers will be needed across Europe by 2030. This is a 20-fold increase to support the increase of EVs over the next decade. 

This means the infrastructure needs to improve to keep up with the demand, making charging at your office or destination critical. 🏢

Today is big for all European charge point operators (#CPOs)! 📆 

Starting today, April 13, 2024, the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (or #AFIR) will be officially live. 

As part of the EU’s “Fit for 55” policy package, AFIR mandates that all new #EV charging stations need to comply with its standards for: 

💶 Pricing,
💳 Payment,
🧾 Billing,
🔄 Interoperability, and
📊 Third-party data sharing.

But what does this exactly mean for public charge point operators on a practical level?

These transparent pricing requirements and accessibility improvements are to expand Europe's current charging infrastructure and hold the key to future-friendly charge point operations.

Over Easter Weekend, Team Monta was out in force at FullyCharged.SHOW & Everything Electric, London 2024! ⚡

Three full days of great conversations with new and familiar faces at our hot coral booth! 🎉 Product, Marketing, and Sales teams from our London and Copenhagen offices were excited to talk about the future of #EV charging and electrification, and our visitors left clued up on how Monta can support that journey - from beginning to end - armed with barista-brewed coffee, Easter eggs and our ‘connecting the dots’ goodie bags! ☕

⚖️ Alex Iriondo Gaskue, our grid services expert, was on stage with National Grid, 3ti Energy Hubs, and Fully Charged, talking to an audience of over 200 eager to learn peeps about the future grid and what 2050 has in store. Alex talked about how grid service technologies, such as Monta’s PowerBank, will continue to support the grid now, and when EV adoption increases worldwide. 

🏢 Alok Dubey also joined a panel discussion with myenergi, NexBlue, and EVision Electric Vehicles (H.E Group) to discuss the importance of destination and workplace charging and how Monta Technology enables EV adoption (so businesses and people can go and stay electric!) for those who can’t have chargers at home. Site owners need to maximize uptime and unlock new revenue streams by opening up their charge points to the public—which is super easy to do with Monta.

🌟 Reflecting on the WomenHack event at Monta HQ!

We recently had the privilege of hosting a WomenHack event to promote Monta's commitment to gender balance. One of our main goals this year is to improve gender balance across all departments! 🚀

Thank you to Violeta Todorova, Heidi Puk Hermann Schwartz, and Marleen Kaiser for sharing their enriching experiences as women in tech at Monta. It was inspirational to hear Marleen's story about her adventure from student — where she was the only woman in her year of study during her bachelor’s — to a full-time #engineer at Monta, and having a role model like Heidi, represents the importance of diverse perspectives in driving innovation and solving problems faster.

While only 32% of workforces, and 25% of C-suite are women/gender-diverse in tech, Monta averages 37%, and our board is 50% gender-diverse!

Naturally, the goal isn't just to beat averages, it's to create an environment for everyone to succeed. For example, did you know that diverse teams are more productive? This is according to the Harvard Business Review, where a study found that diverse teams are 25% more productive and solve problems faster than non-diverse teams! 💯 

At Monta, we aim to continue building workplaces where gender balance is not just an abstract objective but an achievable result that enriches our goal of unity, transparency, and collaboration!
