💡Thoroughly enjoyed the discussion on the (r)evolutionary path of AI with my fellow panelists Ramy, Richard A. Frey, Ali Faramawy during the MoreThan Capital Investor days in Istanbul. Always great to catch up with fellow investors and Harvard AMP alumni. 

Here are a few key takeaways:
🤖 "People often overestimate what can be achieved in the short term and underestimate what can be achieved and its impact in the long term." - Bill Gates
 This sentiment applies to major innovations, which often go through a hype cycle before reaching full potential. AI is likely to follow a similar trajectory.

🤖 AI in Financial Services
 AI is already transforming sectors like financial services, impacting everything from customer acquisition and commercial due diligence to servicing, transactions, cross/up-selling, and retention. The key is to turn AI from a marginal advantage into a long-term competitive edge.
 💡Example: Nubank's advanced AI optimizes real-time client servicing, reducing operating costs to just 90 cents per client - 20 to 50 times cheaper than traditional competitors.
 💡 Example: Asset management and wealth management companies like Betterment, Wealthfront, and Endowus use AI for robo-advice, significantly lowering costs and enhancing services for large customer segments.
 💡 Examples: Banks like Standard Chartered, HSBC and J.P. Morgan are using AI for a variety of use cases from cashflow forecasting for their corporate clients, churn prediction, share of wallet optimization to digital enhancing the RM's to improve their ability to provide the right product and solutions recommendations. 

🤖 Strategic Focus
 The focus should not be on marginal improvements but on significantly strengthening the business core and creating a structural competitive advantage, as seen with Nubank.

🤖 Long-Term Planning
 Companies should have a long-term plan at the board level, including a strategic vision, framework, organizational design, and policies for responsible AI. It's also crucial to start with smaller initiatives, fostering a culture of "Test & Learn," experimentation, and continuous improvement.

🤖 Rapid AI Innovations
 Innovations in AI are moving fast, with companies like inait making significant strides towards AGI.
