NEW COOPERATION WITH THE SAXON TEXTILE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (STFI) 📢 We are pleased to announce an exciting cooperation with the renowned Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V. (STFI) . The STFI is a leader in the fields of technical textiles, nonwovens, lightweight textile construction, functionalization and recycling. In addition, they offer many years of experience and expertise in the testing and certification of personal protective equipment (PPE) and geosynthetics. ⚙ Our cooperation project: We are working together on an energy-efficient drying system for spunlace nonwovens. A typical spunlace system consists of five stations: 1️⃣ Fiber preparation (separation of the nonwoven fibers) 2️⃣ Web formation (transport of the fiber pile on a conveyor belt) 3️⃣ Nonwoven bonding (hydroentanglement) 4️⃣ Drying (dryers heated with gas and/or electricity) 5️⃣ Winding (rolling up the nonwoven webs for further processing) 💡 Our contribution: To reduce energy costs for electricity and gas, our ultrasonic technology supports the existing drying process with mechanical pre-dewatering.The energy requirement in the dryer (4th station) can be significantly reduced as a result. Several adjacent sonotrodes, the number of which can be scaled to the product width as required, together form an ultrasonic system that “beats” the water out of the fabric webs. A screen belt provides the necessary counterforce to get the water out efficiently. The use of ultrasonic also increases the bonding of the nonwoven fabrics. 💚 Why us? Because we can offer our customers and partners customized solutions that are individually tailored to their process, we were able to successfully support the research project thanks to our high level of innovation with high-quality components that are suitable for continuous operation (24 hours a day, 7 days a week). LARGE COMPONENTS, FLEXIBLE SOLUTIONS: OUR C-FRAME MACHINE 💪🏻 In close cooperation with MultiMaterial-Welding AG and Bossard Group , we have developed the C-FRAME machine, which can ultrasonically weld a wide variety of components - from automotive and aerospace to HVAC and railroad applications. The C-FRAME ultrasonic welding machine is extremely flexible and can weld a wide variety of components in terms of their shape and dimensions. With a distance of up to 800 mm to the sonotrode, even large-format components can be processed in the machine. We are delighted to see how ideas from our development are now being utilised in various areas of application!
