This infusion of capital will propel NanoQT's mission to develop its proprietary quantum processing unit (QPU) designed for quantum repeaters, a groundbreaking innovation poised to reshape the landscape of quantum computing. We are pleased to share a new perspective paper "Scalable Networking of Neutral-Atom Qubits: Nanofiber-Based Approach for Multiprocessor Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computer" on arXiv at https://lnkd.in/gaXpW-_q

In this paper, we clarify the criteria and technological requirements necessary to scale up neutral-atom quantum computers beyond a single module by connecting them through photonic networking links. Our analysis demonstrates that state-of-the-art nanofiber optical cavities, developed by NanoQT researchers (https://lnkd.in/gxah4NKv), can serve as an efficient atom-photon interface for scaling up through time, wavelength, and channel multiplexing. This allows multiple neutral-atom quantum computers to operate cooperatively without sacrificing computational speed. These findings suggest a viable approach for building large-scale, multiprocessor, fault-tolerant quantum computers utilizing neutral atoms, nanofiber optical cavities, and fiber-optic networks.

We're thrilled to hear that H. Jeff Kimble is the inaugural recipient of the Leonard Mandel Quantum Optics Award!
Jeff's pioneering work spans a wide range of quantum physics, including quantum optics, quantum metrology, and quantum information science. His work has been instrumental in creating quantum states of the optical field, applying these advancements to enhance the sensitivity of optical interferometry and atomic spectroscopy beyond conventional quantum limits. A significant part of his legacy also includes demonstration of strong coupling between single atom and photon through his studies in cavity quantum electrodynamics, and its application to quantum information processing, including on-demand single-photon generation and photon blockade etc, summarized in his review.

NanoQT’s technology is heavily inspired by and rests on Jeff's pioneering work, especially in micro/nanophotonic cavities. The company is very proud to be pushing this technology towards commercialization.
