Fulya Ekiz Kanik holds degrees in chemistry (B.S., Middle East Technical University, Turkey), biotechnology (M.S., Middle East Technical University, Turkey), and biomedical engineering (M.S. UMass Lowell), and most recently earned her Ph.D. from Boston University. Her dissertation focused on innovative molecular diagnostic technologies, specializing in microRNA, rare mutation, and infectious disease detection. Dr. Kanik has expertise in surface modification for molecular assays and optical systems, and holds over 30 publications and 2 book chapters.

Henry Hanjun Hwang is a multi-disciplinary scientist and engineer with over a decade of experience in the biotechnology field. He earned his PhD from the University of California, San Diego, where he worked to integrate microfluidics, 3D printing, and tissue engineering to advance microphysiological systems applications. Dr. Hwang enjoys the pursuit of translating novel ideas into practical engineering solutions with a focus on scalable innovation.
