Neuralink Corp. is an American neurotechnology company founded by Elon Musk that is developing implantable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). Their goal is to create a generalized brain interface to restore autonomy to those with unmet medical needs and unlock human potential. The company has developed a fully implantable and cosmetically invisible brain-computer interface called the N1 Implant, which allows users to control a computer or mobile device wirelessly. The implant consists of biocompatible enclosure, battery, chips and electronics, threads for recording neural activity, and a surgical robot for precise insertion. Neuralink is also building an app that enables users to manipulate a keyboard and mouse using only their mind. The company is actively recruiting individuals with diverse engineering, scientific, and operations expertise.

Our goal is to build a system with at least two orders of magnitude more communication channels (electrodes) than current clinically-approved devices. This system needs to be safe, it must have fully wireless communication through the skin, and it has to be ready for patients to take home and use on their own. Our device, called the Link, will be able to record from 1024 electrodes and is designed to meet these criteria.
