♻️ What happens when your customers and communities want sustainable and practical solutions for their home? You seek the chances to make this happen…and that’s how we ended up exploring opportunities with none other than IKEA ! Our conversations with IKEA Cardiff focused on how we could help each other serve our customers and the wider City. We both knew that having sustainable solutions to fit everyone’s home and lifestyle shouldn’t be difficult. 🏡 Piloting a pop-up store was the ideal route! It lets people browse products, chat to IKEA colleagues about their challenges, and find the solutions that fit their spaces perfectly. It also helps our customers embed sustainable living in the heart of their homes. As always, this was a team effort at Newport City Homes, from Mark Chircop ’s ongoing conversations with IKEA widening the idea pool for potential (watch this space!) and Eleanor Lowman MTPI and Shahane Ali for finding the best commercial space in our portfolio to fit the need… 🤝 The collaboration between our Regeneration and Community Development Team, the Commercials Team, and IKEA has led to an exciting opportunity in the heart of Newport. Such a lovely visit to Ringland Primary School this morning with Meriel Gough (Lovell) and Laura (PTFA lead) to support their 'Cwtch n Crumbs' cabin. This support is from our Community Benefit/Social Purpose with Lovell. The children were already very excited to see the cabin and hear the plans which is going to bring them lots of exciting opportunities making them more sustainable.
