There were 129,000 cases with ‘pend medical’ status in the Official Injury Claim ( #OIC ) portal a year ago. A year on, 25,000 are still being negotiated while 63,000 are either still stuck in the ‘pend medical’ phase or have dropped off the portal altogether. All this contributes to the increasing period it takes for a claim to settle on the OIC, last reported at over 280 days. These #delays and bottlenecks are impacting the entire #claims industry, costs are increasing, and the customer experience is deteriorating.
