OMass Therapeutics is a private pharmaceutical company, focused on structural mass spectrometry to discover novel medicines. The company uses its suite of proprietary technologies based on high-resolution mass spectrometry to study intact protein assemblies. The technology enables detection of drug leads that not only bind to the target complex, but also exert a functional effect through modulating complex formation. These methods are being applied to drug discovery for a variety of complex targets, including membrane receptors, addressing severe unmet medical needs. OMass is backed by Syncona Ltd and Oxford Science Enterprises.

At OMass Therapeutics we take #biscuits and #Olympics very seriously. 2024 #biscuitsolympics are in full swing! 
So far, there have been easy wins for firm favourites (Nutella biscuits, dark chocolate digestives, Pick Ups… ). Surprising heavy defeats (Hobnobs) by last minute entrants (almond & pistachio cookies). After heavy thrashing of old school favourites (Jammie dodgers, custard creams and chocolate bourbons), a few distraught loyal supporters had to be reassured that losers will not be banned from the weekly shop (phew!). 

It is no surprise that #OMassians strongly favour #chocolatecoveredbiscuits, resulting in a very #biased contestant pool going into the quarterfinals (7/8!). This makes the semis and finals … well… more or less interesting, depending on your view! Whichever way, many more biscuits will be eaten over the next few weeks until the one and only #BiscuitOlympic champion is crowned!

We recently collaborated with Waters Corporation to develop a novel enhanced declustering device which provides sustained activation of protein ions in the first pumping stage of the mass spectrometer. This provides efficient detergent removal from membrane proteins and enables native top-down measurements of drug interactions obtained from multiplexed compound libraries.
