Operation Eyesight Universal works to prevent blindness and restore sight by partnering with local health workers, hospitals, and governments to provide eye care services.

We seek to improve access to quality eye care while also addressing some of the root causes of avoidable blindness, such as gender inequities, inadequate eye care services, long distances to eye health centres and lack of access to clean water, among others.

Our programs are designed to provide quality eye health care to all, regardless of age, gender or ability to pay.

Great news for all Canadians! Canada has passed the National Strategy for Eye Care into law. This means that eye health care has now been incorporated into universal health care - it is a right for all Canadians. Millions of people - from those with undetected eye conditions to those struggling with sight - will benefit, in all parts of Canada. We first started working together on a pilot project in Kenya in 2015, and continue that partnership today, working together to screen tens of thousands of schoolchildren for eye conditions using the Peek technology.
