Oppenheimer Partners is looking for another associate to join its 1-year Associate Program (female South African candidates preferred).

The associate will support senior investment professionals in all aspects of the deal process from origination and due diligence through deal structuring and post-investment portfolio management. Candidates who take initiative, have a tremendous work ethic, are highly analytical and have a high level of maturity are considered ideal. Strong financial modelling and analysis skills are required.
 
The position provides an opportunity to work across sectors, get exposure to the unique concept of engaged capital and have constant interactions with senior members of the team. The role is ideal for a post-MBA or post graduate degree candidate (in relevant fields) or a current high performing analyst in investment banking, financial services, or management consulting. 
 
This is a 1-year fixed term contract opportunity and all candidate(s) applying must be able to start work in South Africa if offer is extended (South African, permanent resident or other status). Female South Africans would be given preference. Compensation is market competitive.

Ending 2023 with a bang! 🎉

Genser Energy has achieved significant milestones this year, including the successful completion of the 110km Kumasi natural gas pipeline (PP02) and the restart of operations at Chirano. However, a standout accomplishment was the delivery of crucial cargo for the 200mmscfd Gas Conditioning Plant (GCP), set for completion in 2024.

In November, the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority at the Port of Takoradi witnessed a unique cargo operation in its 95-year history. Following months of meticulous coordination led by Daniella Akowuah Coffie Menyah and the Supply Chain team, our Senior Naval Engineer, Carlos Esteban Laya Márquez , welcomed the vessel, and a dedicated 50+ team comprised of Genser Energy and Takoradi Port staff undertook the monumental task of safely unloading the cargo, using specialized equipment and vehicles. 🚢

The centerpiece was the de-methanizer, weighing 80,000kg and measuring 48 meters long. 🏗️

The equipment's delivery took two full days, covering 135km from the Port of Takoradi to Prestea, passing through 32 different communities from New Takoradi to Himan. 🚚

The complex operation required collaboration across various departments. Genser Energy teams seamlessly came together. From naval and civil engineers to supply chain and logistics team, HSE personnel, community relations team, and transportation experts, everyone played a vital role in ensuring the safe delivery of goods to its final destination in Prestea, Western Region, Ghana. 🤝

The Prestea GCP is currently under construction. This facility is designed for the extraction of Natural Gas Liquids ("NGLs") and the compression/liquefaction of natural gas. 🏭🛢️
