Outcomes Accelerator is championing organizations leveraging outcomes-based finance to tackle urgent challenges across the globe with a focus on decent work & economic growth and climate action.

Varaha’s victorious concept centers on a groundbreaking notion: "Harnessing regenerative outcomes in rice farming within the Indo-Gangetic Plains."

Through this endeavor, Varaha will spearhead the creation of an Impact Bond to encourage around 4,000 rice farmers spanning 8,000 hectares of land in Haryana to embrace direct seeding methods. This pioneering strategy endeavors to rejuvenate the soil, resulting in carbon sequestration, diminished emissions, enhanced soil health, and water conservation.

The round was led by RTP Global with participation from Orios Venture Partners, Omnivore, Norinchukin Bank (one of Japan's largest institutional investors), AgFunder and Octave Wellbeing Economy Fund, an investment arm of IMC Pan Asia Alliance. 

Varaha is a full-stack climate tech company dedicated to offsetting greenhouse gas emissions by developing nature-based carbon projects and incentivizing thousands of smallholders towards sustainable practices. Through its cutting-edge Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) platform, Varaha utilizes advanced technologies like remote sensing, #machinelearning, and scientific research to accurately measure the sequestration and reduction of #greenhouse gasses resulting from regenerative agriculture, afforestation, and biochar projects. Serving as a comprehensive solution, Varaha caters to leading global companies aiming for #netzero  emissions by offering a diverse range of high-quality, scientifically-supported #carbon credits.

Varaha has made significant strides, enrolling over 700,000 acres across #India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Kenya, partnering with 100+ collaborators to involve smallholder farmers, with plans to quadruple outreach in the next 12-15 months.
