We have announced the shopping trends for 2023 based on the shopping data of our customers. This year’s trend is “Manepa (Money Performance) Consumption for Fulfilling Dreams,” where customers actively managed money to smartly pursue their passions.

・The top 3 items purchased using Paidy in 2023 were the “iPhone 15 / iPhone 15 Pro,” “Bus Tickets,” and “T-shirts.”
・The Paidy Card continues to be well-received, with transaction amounts approximately doubling compared to the same period last year.
・“Manepa Travel” is popular as customers utilized interest-free* installment payments to spend money wisely and efficiently, making their dreams a reality.

【フライング新年調査/Jumping New Year Survey】

「夢に自信を、心に余裕を持てる世界を作る」をパーパスとして掲げるPaidyは、2021年から「フライング新年」という新しい概念を提案し、思い立った時こそが何かを始める絶好のタイミングと位置付け、新年を待たずにその目標や夢のために今すぐ始めることを応援しています。今回、「フライング新年」をさらに盛り上げるため、「2023年の実態と2024年に対する期待」について調査を実施しました。

・2023年の漢字は「楽」。コロナの規制緩和で多くの人がやりたいことをアクティブに実現した。
・6割以上が2022年と比べ、2023年の方がやりたいことができたと回答。
・2024年の「フライング新年」は、夢や目標に向かって堅実に取り組みたい人が多数。

With our purpose “Room to Dream,” Paidy developed a new concept called “Jumping New Year” in 2021. Since then, we have encouraged people to have a jump start to embark on their goals and dreams immediately without waiting until New Year. Paidy recently conducted a survey to find out the current state in 2023 and expectations for 2024.

・The Kanji character representing 2023 was “楽” (enjoyment). With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, many people actively realized what they wanted to do.
・Over 60% of respondents indicated that they were able to pursue their desired activities more in 2023 compared to 2022.
・For the “Jumping New Year” in 2024, a significant number of people expressed a desire to approach their dreams and goals steadily.

“Best Places to Work” is a global program that measures a company’s employee satisfaction and the maturity of HR practices across eight areas, including workplace culture, practices, and growth opportunities, and recognizes workplaces with outstanding scores.

本日11月4日は、「いい推しの日」。今年もPaidyは「みんなの推し活大調査2023」を実施しました。調査結果によると、推し活はポジティブな日常生活を送る上で欠かせない国民的アクティビティであり、もはや「ライフワーク化」していることが伺えます。

・主要な国際スポーツ大会が多い今年は“スポーツ推し“が急増！
・8割(82.4%)以上が推し活のお金の使い方を工夫し、より意思あるスマートな推し活へ

Paidy conducted the “Oshikatsu Survey 2023” for the “いい推しの日” (a day celebrating having oshi - a thing or a person you support) on November 4th. According to the survey, Oshikatsu (activities enthusiastically supporting favorite people or things) is an essential activity for people in Japan to enjoy positive everyday life and is now becoming a “lifework.”

・More than half (56.2%) are supporting their favorites in person. Fans enjoy cheering out loud for the post-COVID.
・Due to the numerous major international sports events, there has been a rapid increase in sport fans.
・Over 80% (82.4%) are devising ways to use money for Osthikatsu, aiming for more intentional and smart Oshikatsu.

With the purpose of “Room to Dream,” Paidy believes that Oshikatsu is a positive behavior that brightens daily life and supports everyone who enjoys Oshikatsu in their own way.For more details, please check below.
