The PAL-V Liberty, the world’s first FlyDrive vehicle (flying car), has successfully completed its first Periodic Technical Inspection (PTI/APK), 4 years after its groundbreaking road certification. The PTI milestone follows the PAL-V Liberty’s historic approval as the first flying vehicle to be road-legal, solidifying its position as a pioneer in both the aviation and automotive industries. In 2020, the PAL-V Liberty received its European road certification, marking a revolutionary moment in transportation history. This approval allowed the FlyDrive vehicle, which can seamlessly transition from aircraft to car, to be driven on public roads. Now, after driving on the European roads for four years, the PAL-V Liberty has proven again to meet the most stringent safety and roadworthiness standards, as confirmed by its first PTI. PAL-V, the world leader in FlyDrive mobility solutions, and Forum Group, the owner of Breda International Airport, are pleased to announce that they signed an LOI for the establishment of an Assembly and Delivery Center at Breda International Airport. The airport, strategically located in the south of the Netherlands, nestling in between European hubs, like Rotterdam and Antwerp is on the forefront of regional airport innovation. Forum Group's management has developed a strategy to innovate the airfield and transform it into a mobility innovation hub. Under the scope of the LoI, Breda International Airport will become the first European airport to host a dedicated PAL-V Assembly and Delivery Center. This strategic collaboration will support the roll-out of the PAL-V FlyDrive vehicles as it approaches air certification and commercial availability. PAL-V is a recognized leader in personal flying mobility. Its first product is the PAL-V Liberty flying car. It offers unprecedented door-to-door flying mobility for both private as well as professional users. The products are designed and build in compliance with existing road and air regulations. The company was founded in 2008 after the concept was patented. The proof of concept prototype started flight and drive testing in 2012, proofing technical feasibility but also certifiability within the existing legal framework. The combination of flying and driving changes private flying into a useful mobility solution, disrupting the private flying market. Using the many airstrips available and possibilities to land on private property, there is no need for new infrastructure. 

Its Liberty platform can be easily adapted to hybrid and full electric solutions once the technology matures. The companies order book is growing and the first customers are training for their flight license. PAL-V has built its first production models in its assembly facility and is in the final stage of certification. Future developments include autonomous flying as well as a patented e-VTOL product for air-taxi and air-cargo use for which it is building a consortium together with the Dutch Aerospace Laboratories.
