Pala is back... We're delighted to announce that Pala Eyewear has been acquired by Coral Eyewear , a British eyewear brand creating glasses and sunglasses from recycled plastic. Our e-commerce store is back live in time for Christmas and every purchase will continue to contribute towards impact programmes and eye health across the globe. 👨🔧 As part of the new working relationship with the Coral Eyewear team, led by father-son duo Calvin and George Bailey, we're excited to be working on plans which will see Pala Prescription Glasses stocked in high-street opticians across the UK. Founder John Pritchard will continue as a trusted friend to the business as Pala Eyewear and Coral Eyewear look to drive positive change in the optical industry.

Why we bought Pala Eyewear 😎 Earlier this year, we bought a second brand and positioned it alongside Coral Eyewear . Here's why... 1. Purpose 🏥 Pala's impact projects genuinely change lives. With over £50,000 raised to build vision centres and thousands of people benefiting from eyecare screening and provision in Ghana, Zambia and Sierra Leone, the entire team are driven to carry on this work. 2. Product 🕶 Pala do sunglasses extremely well. With premium acetate and a clear dedication to using plant-based materials, the styles and colours compliment our current collection and provides even more choice within our sustainable options. 3. New Markets 😎 Pala has led to amazing new relationships with customers in areas we weren't operating in and opened up entirely new distribution networks for the group. Whether it is luxury hotels such as Lime Wood or womenswear retailers such as Aspiga and Bamford , I love seeing our sunglasses in new locations. 4. Opticians 👓 Predominately a sunglasses brand with a small collective of independent opticians, we're excited to grow Pala's presence in the optical market and do what we do we best by getting optical collections into independent practices who want good quality product with a clear purpose. 5. People 💚 When discussing something like this, there is a lot of paperwork and difficult decisions to work through. We were lucky to have John Pritchard 's support in taking on the brand and have continued to benefit from his support post-transaction via his consultancy business illume .
