Despite the recent rollout of a Medi-Cal community health worker (CHW) benefit in California, fewer than 7,000 Medi-Cal members have been helped through billable wrap-around services. 

Pear Suite is working to change that by empowering hundreds of CHWs and community-based organizations to leverage this financing pathway to serve more Medi-Cal lives and create recurring, sustainable revenue.

🎉 Pear Suite recently placed 2nd in the Prime Health Challenge and will be receiving a grant to expand our reach in California! As an impact-driven organization, we're excited to distribute 100% of the prize funding to help 50 community health workers (CHWs) provide reimbursable services for thousands of Medi-Cal members. Last week, Gavin Ward hosted Colby R. Takeda on the #PopHealthPodcast presented by 24 Hour Home Care. The two discussed how Pear Suite has been helping hundreds of community-based organizations, including barber shops, outreach nonprofits, and housing agencies, take advantage of California's #CommunityHealthWorker benefit by billing #MediCal. 

Colby also shared about his early experience in community health, working in a nursing facility in high school and as an administrator at a senior living facility.
