PT Bank Permata Tbk provides various banking products and services to retail, SME, and wholesale customers in Indonesia. It offers savings and current account, and time deposits, as well as personal and mortgage loans, working capital loans, and trade finance. The company also provides mutual funds, bonds, bancassurance, credit cards, treasury solutions, supply chain, capital market, and cash management services, as well as digital banking services. As of December 31, 2021, it operated 70 branches, 215 sub-branches, 264 Sharia office channeling, 1 cash office, and 873 ATMs. The company was formerly known as PT Bank Bali Tbk and changed its name to PT Bank Permata Tbk in October 2002. PT Bank Permata Tbk was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. PT Bank Permata Tbk operates as a subsidiary of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited.

In 2004, Standard Chartered Bank and PT Astra International Tbk took over PermataBank and began a massive transformation process within the organization. Furthermore, as a form of its commitment to PermataBank, the combined ownership of these major shareholders increased to 89.01% in 2006.
 
After a long but smooth process, PermataBank made a new history in May 2020 through an acquisition transaction conducted by Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited ("Bangkok Bank"). Bangkok Bank officially became the controlling shareholder of PermataBank after taking over 89.12% of PermataBank's shares from the total number of shares that have been issued and paid up by Standard Chartered Bank and Astra International. Followed by the Mandatory Tender Offer process in 2020, as of 2021 and 2022 Bangkok Bank owned 98.71%

We offer complete suite of banking products and services including current and savings accounts, time deposits, mutual funds, bonds, personal loans, credit card and mortgage for Retail customers, available in Conventional and Sharia. We also offer working capital loans, dealer finance, join finance, transaction banking, trade finance, foreign exchange, as well as securities and agencies services for our SME and Wholesale business.

PT Bank Permata Tbk obtained the license as the commercial bank under The Decree of Minister of Finance Number 1937/U.M.II dated 19 February 1957.

“Bagaimanakah pesatnya perkembangan teknologi, khususnya AI, dapat berperan dalam mendorong Inklusi Finansial di Indonesia?”

Demikian salah satu dari sekian banyak pertanyaan yang dilontarkan secara antusias oleh mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB)  University of Indonesia pada sesi Guest Lecture bersama President Director PermataBank, Meliza Musa Rusli dan Chief Economist PermataBank, Josua Pardede. 

Acara yang bertajuk “Role of Technology in Financial Inclusion” ini digelar pada 22 Mei 2024 lalu, dan merupakan rangkaian dari peluncuran Permata Lounge—sebuah fasilitas yang dipersembahkan oleh PermataBank untuk mendukung literasi keuangan. 

Di dalam Permata Lounge, para mahasiswa dan pengajar FEB UI dapat menikmati berbagai fasilitas yang bisa digunakan setiap harinya, mulai dari koneksi internet, TV besar untuk presentasi, area kolaborasi, working station, dan juga dedicated restroom yang nyaman. 

Permata Lounge dapat memberikan kenyamanan civitas akademika dalam berdiskusi dan belajar bersama. Inisiatif ini merupakan komitmen PermataBank dalam memberikan nilai bermakna bagi mitra dan mendukung upaya pemerintah dalam memperkuat literasi dan inklusi keuangan di Indonesia.
