🍸 A Margarita Milestone at Taste of London Festival! 🍸 

We came, we poured, we conquered – 7,000 margaritas in one weekend! 🎉 

Picture this: Our tent was buzzing with so much energy that people thought they’d stumbled into a secret margarita festival. 😂 By day 4, we even sold out of our Spicy Margarita – turns out, people love a little kick with their fun! 🌶 

In the hustle and bustle of the event, standing out can be tough. Fancy stands and perfect data capture can help, but for us, it’s about something simpler: creating moments for margaritas. 

One attendee even told us our ‘vibe was unmatched’ – and that’s what we strive for. It’s not just about the margs (though they are delicious); it’s about the moments and memories we create together.

Never underestimate the power of one small step ✨

When I worked at ASOS, I was too junior to be involved in the brand shoots, but I did know they were paying £50-100K+ for an abroad shoot so naturally, I assumed it was totally unrealistic for Pimentae 

It’s a vicious cycle as a founder, you don’t want to spend money, but you have to spend money, then you have no money, then you don’t sleep for an entire week thinking about how you’re going to get more money (any angels watching… money for margs is a good deal 🙏)

We have just completed our 4th abroad shoot☀️🎉, this time in Ibiza using a freelance photographer found through Instagram, a local videographer & 6 incredible models who were either on holiday, living on the island or came through our network.

Everything is done in-house: co-ordinating the shoot, building a shot list using Pinterest, partnering with fashion brands for the styling (don’t ask, don’t get), asking hotels if they will let us shoot there in exchange for content 📸

To save on cost, time it with a holiday so you can take out a suitcase of stock but most importantly, be honest with your budgets. Work out what’s realistic, message around, communicate the vision & you’ll be shocked what you can achieve.

It always surprises people when we say they can buy a 20 litre keg of Spicy Margarita, and then it always surprises us what questions come next… “Does it come with a straw?”, “Can and I have a tap installed in my house?” - you can have whatever you want if you pay for it!!

And then we tell them about the Bag in Box, way less hassle but still gets you 50 margs!!! There’s also a loophole in the Glastonbury alcohol policy so if you forget your pillow, a 5 litre bag of spicy marg will do the trick.

The reason we have so many formats is so that we can cater to any occassion, and there’s ALWAYS a moment for a margarita.

MYTHS about running a start up:

🔸 Can't compete with corporate budgets ➡  get savvy & creative.
🔸 You need significant sums of ££ in the bank  ➡  launch an MVP & iterate once you have proof of concept.
🔸 You need an original idea that doesn't exist in the market ➡  execute better than your competitors. Competition shows demand.
🔸 You need a Finance background ➡  use your network & read up! If you don't know, someone else will.

If you think the same as everyone else, you'll get the same results 💤 

3 years down the line we still use friends as models. Holiday backdrop's as shoot locations. An in-house marketing team. Most importantly, we NEVER compromise on Pimentae's unique vision 🎬

Three years ago, after a trip to Mexico, we embarked on a mission to change the narrative around tequila. Tired of the stereotype and the all-too-familiar sight of regrettable nights, we knew there was more to this spirit than just shots. So, we founded Pimentae with a vision to showcase the true magic of tequila when balanced correctly. 

Today, on National Small Business Month, we reflect on our journey and the milestones we've achieved. From those early days of scepticism to now, where we stand strong as a team of five, we've come a long way. It's been a journey of breaking down barriers, fostering transparent communication, and making bold decisions to drive our vision forward. 

As a tight-knit team, we're not just selling a product; we're pioneering a movement. It's about liberating the way people perceive and enjoy tequila. It's about creating moments of joy and connection, one sip at a time.
