Whether we like it or not, today's user research climate is all about "doing more...with less." Here's how to keep up: 1. 🤖 ✨ AI tools are not the enemy: they can actually become allies if you use them strategically. Try using AI to summarise interview transcripts, copyedit discussion guides and draft admin emails. Let them help with the busywork, leaving you more time for the big picture thinking. 2. 🤑 Consider ditching the expensive enterprise tools: there are plenty of promising startups who can do what the big guys can, but faster and cheaper. My top rec is PlaybookUX but there are more snapping at the heels of the incumbents. If you're a team lead deciding between layoffs or enterprise software, choose people, every time! 3. 🏃♀️ Split between teams? Focus on risk and opportunities: if you're stretched, prioritise your time by thinking "what would happen if I didn't research this feature?" Low risk design decisions don't always need your attention. Step away. Meanwhile, show value by getting ahead: with the landscape shifting so much in tech, lead the way by focusing on discovery over validation.
