The company sells its products through a direct product sales force, original equipment manufacturers, and dealer networks. It has strategic agreements with Airbus; Lhyfe; Edison Motors; Phillips 66; Apex Clean Energy; BAE Systems; and Universal Hydrogen Co. The company was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Latham, New York.

Earlier today, Plug signed a joint declaration at the German-Danish Green Hydrogen Summit in Copenhagen, calling for political action to turn the German-Danish hydrogen pipeline into reality by 2028. Plug joins over 30 companies in urging the German and Danish governments to expedite planned hydrogen infrastructure by underscoring the potential of green hydrogen in enabling a net-zero emission economy.
 
Germany's substantial industrial hydrogen demand and the European target of producing 10 million tons of renewable hydrogen by 2030, emphasize the importance of robust leadership and collaboration. The German and Danish industries are ready to deliver on both EU and national green hydrogen targets, but the availability of competitive green hydrogen, at scale, in time, is key in fueling the transition.
