🌟✨ What an incredible two days we’ve had at Polymateria with the brilliant minds from the #PlasticUnderground project! As part of a collaborative effort to tackle micro- and nanoplastic pollution, we’ve been honored to host PhD students from across Europe, looking deep into the challenges and innovations at the forefront of environmental science.
🌍 Polymateria is proud to be a part of the PlasticUnderground project, a European research initiative funded by the Horizon Europe programme. Launched in December 2022 in Lyon, France, and coordinated by the University Lyon 1 Claude Bernard, this project spans 8 countries and includes 11 organisations dedicated to training 14 PhD students over a four-year period. Our collaboration in hosting a full-time PhD student and facilitating several secondments reflects our shared commitment to advancing environmental science while providing valuable opportunities for the next generation of scientists to grow and thrive.
🔬 Over these two days, our guests engaged in a series of workshops and lab tours, discussions on funding, policy, and marketing - it was an enriching and fun experience. We extend heartfelt thanks to our facilitators for their invaluable contributions.
🕶️ The final memorable moment from our workshop was presenting each PhD student with recycled sunglasses, thanks to Polymateria’s lyfecycle technology. It was our way of saying thanks and highlighting our shared journey towards sustainability.
🙏 A huge thanks to the students for their enthusiasm and insights. Your contribution to addressing environmental challenges is inspiring. As you push forward in your research, remember that every step you take is crucial for developing solutions to combat plastic pollution.
