Yesterday was big day for the PowerGEM and Cambridge Energy Solutions teams! We announced that we are joining forces to meet the evolving needs of the power industry. CES helps customers optimize asset operations, maximize revenue, and hedge against uncertainty through its portfolio of eight software products. Merging with CES is key to our mission to ensure grid reliability and market efficiency, so we’re thrilled to have our teams come together. Joseph DeMatteo , our CEO, and Tara Kilgore , our VP of Finance & Operations, traveled to Cambridge, MA, to meet the entire CES team and celebrate with a delicious dinner. Thanks to our host Assef Zobian who now serves as our Chief Development Officer and General Manager for CES.

Last week, the entire PowerGEM team (PowerGEM + Astrapé) came together for a team building offsite in Fairhope, Alabama after six months of virtual collaboration. It's never easy to hit pause on day-to-day work, but stepping back to build our shared vision and combine our values was invaluable. Meeting face-to-face allowed us to dive deep into strategy and create connections that just don’t happen over a screen. We left with fresh insights, stronger bonds, and a grander sense of purpose of what we can accomplish together. #OneTeam2024

We want to thank everyone who joined us in Philadelphia last week for our first in-person PowerGEM User Group Meeting in several years. The level of engagement certainly has us amped up! We’re especially grateful to the four customers who agreed to take the stage and share their expertise: - Jack Armstrong, P.E. with Duke Energy Corporation - Brian Cruse with Southern Company - Anthony Giacomoni with PJM Interconnection - Eric Rodriguez (not pictured) with Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) During our three days together, we covered a lot of hot topics, including interconnection studies, renewable integration and visualization tools. Increased demand necessitates continued innovation across power generation and transmission operations and planning, and we’re here for it! And again, thank you to all those still working across the South to restore power to those affected by Hurricane Helene.

It’s Day 2 of the PowerGEM User Group Meeting in Philadelphia! More than 160 users of our SERVM, TARA and PROBE software have gathered this year to learn about new features and enhancements to help them with resource adequacy, transmission reliability and energy market analysis. CEO Joseph DeMatteo started the day by recognizing first-time attendees and then talked about the grid of the future, including the primary challenges and opportunities that make for an interesting career in the power industry. This is the 19th user group meeting company co-founders Boris Gisin and Manos Obessis, also pictured, have helmed. When Boris took the podium, he talked about such TARA developments as interconnection processes, EMS modeling and a new GIS visualization and heatmap tool to support FERC Order 2023. He also noted that PowerGEM, LLC and ASTRAPÉ CONSULTING , which the company acquired a few months ago, are looking for clients to work together on renewable integration planning.
