Primark is an international fashion retailer employing more than 80,000 colleagues across 17 countries in Europe and the US. Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark aims to provide affordable choices for everyone, from great quality everyday essentials to stand-out style across women’s, men’s and kids, as well as beauty, homeware and accessories. With a focus on creating great retail experiences, Primark has over 440 stores globally and continues to expand with the aim of reaching 530 stores by the end of 2026. ­­

Primark is working to make more sustainable fashion affordable for everyone through its Primark Cares strategy, a multi-year programme that focuses on giving clothing a longer life, protecting life on the planet and supporting the livelihoods of the people who make Primark clothes. As part of this, Primark unveiled nine commitments it is working to achieve by 2030. These commitments include making all of its clothes from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials by 2030, halving carbon emissions across its value chain and pursuing a living wage for workers in its supply chain.

An exciting day as we open the doors to Primark Iulius Mall, Timișoara, our third store in Romania and first in west of the country. Representing an investment of over €10 million, the store has created 150 new jobs and brings our affordable offering to even more customers in Romania.

This opening is part of our ambitious growth plans in Central and Eastern Europe, where we now have 14 stores, and we’re not stopping here with two further stores planned in Cluj-Napoca and Craiova, Romania in the coming years.

We're excited to reveal our first collaboration with the iconic Italian sportswear brand Kappa. The 30-piece range combines Kappa’s innovative and high-performing activewear with contemporary trends, featuring stylish hoodies, leggings, co-ord sets and accessories. The collection is part of a new strategic partnership between Primark and Kappa, bringing specialist performance-wear to our customers at affordable prices and is an exciting addition to our wide range of license clothing and accessories in store.

We're committed to promoting equal opportunities for women in our supply chain, and partnering with the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)  we explored male management attitudes towards gender equity in four factories in India. The research highlights workplace norms and societal views that affect women. We welcome ICRW’s insights to help us better understand and address this important topic and we hope this report sparks positive change for women in global supply chains.

Hello Bray! 

This morning, we were joined by Emer Higgins, Minister of State with responsibility for Business, Employment and Retail, as we opened our 38th store in Ireland, located in Bray Central in Co. Wicklow. We’ve invested €4 million in this much anticipated store, creating 100 jobs locally. Best of all, it comes as we celebrate our 55th anniversary this month, since opening our first Penneys store on Mary Street in 1969.
