Southwestern Minnesota's electric grid faces severe congestion, the worst in years, spreading to other states since 2018. Companies are curtailing wind farm development due to grid space shortages, impacting customers and potentially raising rates. These issues arise from the growing demand for wind energy, an outdated grid, and a lack of foresight in transmission planning amplifies the problem. 

The challenge underscores the need for increased #transmission infrastructure to meet renewable energy demands. 

Our technology, PrismaPower, monitors power lines, using #technology to sense every point on the network in real-time, collecting data and providing accurate alerts. With this data, utilities can accurately determine the state, the wind metrics, and any power line risking events in real-time, enabling your power transmission grid to remain up and efficiently running even during peak demand or extreme weather.
