PulmoBioMed commercialises state-of-the-art exhaled breath condensate & aerosol sampling technology as part of a platform for disease and environmental diagnostics.

Our lead product, PBM-HALE is a passive fluid aerosol sampler engineered to segregate exhaled and environmental particles by size. Our technology solves key pains in avoiding sample contamination, preventing sample loss and generating highly reproducible data with digital molecular precision. The first of a series of products, PBM-HALE has demonstrated utility in biological agent capture, genomic/microbiomic analytics, and metabolomic profiling, through a one-stop solution. 

Our vision is to develop the first hand-held biomolecular analyser for medical, veterinary, well-being and environmental use. Our mission is to deliver molecular diagnostic-grade health data from your lips to your hand.

Following the visit of the  Lord Dominic Johnson  of Lainston CBE to Newcastle Upon Tyne in March, PulmoBioMed Ltd. was invited by the Department of Trade and Business to participate in the 2024 MedTech Trade Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

We were represented by our Non-Executive Director of Communications Dr. Huw Edwards, who previously held an Innovation Advisor role to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 
 
Following discussions with the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, the Saudi German Hospital in Jeddah, and key Saudi-based distributors, PulmoBioMed Ltd. intends to register with the Saudi Food and Drug Administration and commence supply of PBM-HALE to the Saudi healthcare system in 2025.

Interested in a new challenge? PulmoBioMed is looking for a Digital Marketing Automation expert to join our small but growing team in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. 

As we approach the formal launch of our first product and grow our leads / order book, the DMA specialist will take ownership of our digital funnel and lead ID-nurturing pipeline in close partnership with our manufacturing/regulatory and core science team.  

You will be a creative, collaborative,  can-do / right-first-time individual with at least 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing automation, ideally in an agency or a highly regulated science space (medical devices, med tech, pharmaceuticals, biotech). You will know your way around SEO, DMA platforms and CRM integration, B2B online campaigns, and have a desire to grow into business development.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Michelle Sugimoto into the PulmoBioMed family as a Principal Scientist - Clinical Projects (Inflammation). 

Michelle is a #Newton International Fellow from the The Academy of Medical Sciences with a distinguished track record in some of the greatest laboratories in the UK focused on #inflammation. Hailing from our friends at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) where she did her PhD and first post-doc under Prof. Mauro Teixeira and Prof. Lirlandia Pires Sousa, Michelle joined the lab of Professor Derek Gilroy (UCL) to work on the interface of lung infection and cancer. She then joined Prof. Mauro Perretti at the William Harvey Institute (QMUL) on an industry-sponsored project on pharmacological approaches to inflammation resolution. During the pandemic she was also part of the COVIDsortium Investigators group at the Barts Health NHS Trust working to understand immune memory to SARS-CoV-2. 

Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge on respiratory inflammation science and pharmacology at the interface of infectious lung diseases to the team on our mission to empower every patient and clinician to achieve optimal lung health by accessing all classes of biomarkers in the lung. She will be focusing on the #diagnosis and #endotyping of #asthma through inflammatory marker analysis in distal airway aerosols through a single text, and contextualising inflammatory status in #pathogen / #microbiome detection in the lower lung in relation to #pneumonia.
