Exciting News! Quandela unveiled the first European quantum computer in North America!

Data centers and transmission networks each account for up to 1.5% of global consumption. The International Energy Agency has emphasized the urgent need to optimize data center operations to reduce energy consumption and maximize the use of renewable energy.

On this path, Exaion inaugurated Bellevue, the world's first eco-friendly and decentralized data center, strategically located in the heart of Humano District in Quebec, alongside PINQ² - Plateforme d'innovation numérique et quantique and the Université de Sherbrooke. With the data center, Exaion is pioneering the hybridization of #HPC and #quantum computing.

#Quandela takes immense pride at designing quantum computers that work at ambient temperature and consume very low energy. By selecting Sherbrooke, Exaion and its innovative data center to house our cutting-edge quantum machine – we’ve chosen a data center that is exemplar in eco-responsibility and a location that is currently the most power-efficient in the market.

The launch of this hybrid data center brings together a growing ecosystem of partners in DistriQ, Zone d'innovation quantique de Sherbrooke. With our quantum acceleration program deployed in Quebec and the support and expertise of our local partners and universities, over 30,000 individuals will have the opportunity each year to learn, experiment, and access the combined capabilities of high-performance and quantum computing. Overall, this quantum computer will enable an ecosystem of 100 partners to generate $200M of yearly services in quantum computing.

Delivering our inaugural quantum computer outside of Europe within just five months, was made possible by optimizing our production capabilities at our factory in Massy, operational since June 2023.

The robustness of our supply chain, based on the photonics and semiconductor industries means that Quandela can now export machines abroad and help local ecosystems to accelerate their quantum innovation.

Quandela and Exaion just wrapped up yesterday an insightful morning at DigiHub Shawinigan, focusing on the power of #HPC and #QuantumComputing in driving the decarbonization of industries and promoting sustainable development.

With experts from PINQ² - Plateforme d'innovation numérique et quantique, #Quandela, 2CRSi, DIACC and EDF’s R&D, we delved into discussions about leveraging these technologies to meet environmental challenges, highlighting the potential of HPC / quantum hybridization in particular.

During the event, DigiHub announced the creation of a Digital Twin Expertise Centre with the support of Quandela, PINQ² and the EDF Group. With a 20M$ investment, 100+ GPUs and 3 quantum computers, this centre will benefit from unrivalled computing power.

This initiative is set to generate over 100 direct tech job, significantly contributing to the local and regional economy. It will also provide training to 50 students every year, ensuring a skilled workforce ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow's tech landscape.
