The Netherlands has been consistently listed among the top nations in quantum technology research and development. Nevertheless, to maintain this global scale leadership, Dutch quantum scale-ups require consistent policy, speed, and access to capital.

Last week, QuantWare and Quantum Delft welcomed a group of Dutch Government Officials for a visit at our headquarters. Among them were a member of the Dutch Parliament, Rachel Van Meetelen (PVV), MKB-Nederland Chairman Jacco Vonhof, and Head of the Economic Team at MKB-Nederland and VNO-NCW, Thomas Grosfeld.

Our CEO, Matthijs Rijlaarsdam, together with industry peers such as directors Kees Eijkel and Lieven Vandersypen of QuTech, Jesse Robbers and Josepha van Kollenburg (Quantum Delta NL), Amber Van Hauwermeiren (Orange Quantum Systems), and Bauke van Rhijn (Qblox) joined in a productive discussion with our esteemed visitors addressing the future of the the Netherlands’ quantum sector.
 
The conversation topics ranged from research, start-ups and scale-ups, economic impact, and investment needs, to upcoming legislative and regulatory measures that will influence the industry, each playing an important role in the growth and success of the Dutch quantum ecosystem.

QuantWare powers the Israeli Quantum Computing Centre.

On Monday, 24 June, the first Israeli Quantum Computing Centre (IQCC) powered by QuantWare in collaboration with our partners Quantum Machines   and ParTec AG was inaugurated. 

This pioneering facility will support advanced research for local startups and academia, acting as a testing ground for new developments in quantum computing technology. Integrating both quantum and classical computing resources, The IQCC aims to boost advancements in the quantum ecosystem by being the first ever facility to provide access to 3 quantum computers with different types of qubits. 

The Centre, located at Tel Aviv University, is equipped with one superconducting quantum computer powered by QuantWare’s Contralto QPU. The project shows how #QuantumOpenArchitecture enables local ecosystems to build out sovereign capabilities.

Its establishment advances efforts in developing practical quantum computing capabilities globally. As part of Tel Aviv University’s ‘AI and Cyber’ Week, the Centre highlights the potential of quantum processors to tackle complex problems and drive technological progress.

QuantWare powers Napoli's ICSC - Centro Nazionale di Ricerca in HPC, Big Data e Quantum Computing

On 29 and 30 May, the ICSC - Centro Nazionale di Ricerca in HPC, Big Data e Quantum Computing for Superconducting Quantum Computation was inaugurated at the #UniversityCampus of Monte Sant'Angelo by the "Ettore Pancini" Department of Physics of the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (UniNa) / University of Naples Federico II. This new Centre marks a milestone in the advancement of quantum research and technology in Italy.

The quantum computer at the heart of the centre is powered by a Contralto QPU. This hardware is enabling the cutting-edge research and development that will be conducted at the facility.

QuantWare is proud to deepen its relationship with Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (UniNa) / University of Naples Federico II further, after announcing our joint project on creating novel qubit architectures in the Ferromon Consortium. This collaboration highlights our ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of quantum technology through partnerships with leading academic institutions.

Our CTO Alessandro Bruno together with representatives from Rigetti Computing, Orange Quantum Systems and many others took part in the opening ceremony, to celebrate this expansion of the European quantum ecosystem.

🇸🇪🇳🇱 H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden receives Soprano QPU 🇸🇪🇳🇱

The Royal Technology Mission (RTM) led by H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and the Chair of Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences Marcus Wallenberg visited QuantWare last Tuesday.

Utility scale Quantum Computers will be built by specialised players. We started the movement towards an #QuantumOpenArchitecture in quantum when we introduced the world’s first commercially available Quantum Processor #Soprano almost exactly 3 years ago. To commemorate this fact, our CEO Matthijs Rijlaarsdam presented an exact replica of that device to H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

The delegation also received a tour of some of our R&D & testing facilities, where our very own quantum experimental wizard Theresa Fuchs gave a demonstration and showed our esteemed guests some of her work. Theresa studied at Chalmers University of Technology herself - so we know how fantastic the talent coming from #Sweden is!
