On Saturday we started the weekend with a cocktail reception, followed by "The Great Erl Liturgy" at the Festspielhaus. 👉 The variety of currency regimes from the flexible ones like the CZK or PLN to soft pegs in Romania and Serbia.​
👉 The impact of the export-oriented model of CEE economies – risks of increased volatility, FX interventions and the role of external support in crises. Overall, we see it as very positive that ECB has accepted its role as lender of last resort well beyond the euro area and EU.​
👉 Especially for open economies like in CE/SEE, global developments matter. The intensifying trade policy disruptions could affect the EUR/USD and risk appetite. Such risks ahead may have a common impact on tradable CE currencies via temporary increased volatility.​
