Generative AI+simulation for industrial robots? Our team combined NVIDIA Omniverse and our platform (ForgeOS) to run simulations seamlessly, program industrial robots, and run them in a factory environment.

🔍 Embracing Innovation in Utility Consumption Monitoring: A Game-Changer in Industrial Automation 🔍

For the past few years, I've consistently championed the integration of utility consumption monitoring in our project specifications. This includes tracking AC and DC power, along with compressed air usage. It's an additional investment of around $5,000, but the payoff is substantial. With edge AI-driven analytics, we've been able to preempt potential downtimes and avoid safety hazards caused by system failures.

Interestingly, I've observed no resistance from companies regarding this integration. In fact, it becomes a highlight within their internal communications for the safety and sustainability benefits that it delivers. Considering the scale of capital industrial automation projects, this $5,000 addition doesn't significantly impact the overall payback. The 'soft savings' from this small investment are undeniable.

However, it puzzles me why this practice isn't more widespread. It seems to be a feature mostly reserved for high-end systems. It reminds me of how backup cameras in cars were once a luxury but are now a standard. Perhaps the slow adoption rate is due to the necessity of networked assets, which traditionally has been a complex task.

I've been living with ForgeOS and ForgeEdge though. The platform is a game-changer. One of its features is that it allows the automatic export of all system parameters to a user-friendly prebuilt dashboard, accessible simply by connecting to the local factory internet and entering the system's IP address. Since everything is already human-readable no intricate programming or dashboard setup is needed. Furthermore, ForgeEdge's Edge AI capabilities enhance the system with seamless insights from the streamed data.

So, I'm curious. Am I living in a unique bubble of modern software technology with ForgeOS and ForgeEdge or is this becoming more common than I've realized?
