ICYMI: our CEO and Founder, Gregory Crimmins presented some *pretty exciting* data on our lead candidate, RPT1G, during a podium presentation at the ASH annual meeting last December.

NAMPT is a core enzyme of human biology, regulating how cells use energy. It is dysregulated in >15 diseases, including hematological malignancies. Cancer cells have a higher metabolic need than healthy cells, so NAMPT is typically expressed at higher concentrations in cancer cells than in healthy cells. Previous efforts to inhibit NAMPT have resulted in significant on-target toxicities, primarily because these drugs employ a mechanism of action that inhibits NAMPT to a detrimental level – even in healthy cells. 

We’re taking a different approach. Our novel, differentiated mechanism of NAMPT inhibition means we can modulate the degree of inhibition to achieve the desired effect on cancer cells while preserving activity in healthy cells. 

We are excited to take RPT1G to the clinic later this year.

Today is a big day for Remedy Plan: our first American Society of Hematology appearance! This morning our founder and CEO Gregory Crimmins shared new data during an oral presentation at the meeting. 

Greg shared data on RPT1G, a small molecule hyperbolic NAMPT inhibitor with a unique, first-in-class mechanism of action. 

NAMPT dysregulation is responsible for more than 20 diseases, but efforts to target NAMPT to date have been hampered by on-target toxicities. 

That all changes with Remedy Plan’s RPT1G!  Preclinical and animal studies presented today revealed that RPT1G is efficacious in acute leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumor models, selectively killing cancer cells. Importantly, RPT1G was thousands-fold better tolerated by healthy cells, without the severe on-target toxicities seen with previous NAMPT inhibitors.

We are expanding our leadership team! Today we announced the appointment of Cassandra Choe-Juliak, M.D., M.S. as acting CMO. Dr. Choe-Juliak has more than 17 years of experience in biopharma most recently as the Chief Medical Officer at Flame Biosciences and at Tiga Therapeutics. Her extensive background in oncology clinical development and proven track record in advancing therapeutics to the clinic will be pivotal as we complete IND enabling studies for our hyperbolic NAMPT inhibitor, RPT1G.

We are also expanding our board, with the addition of Christian Waage. Mr. Waage is a biotech executive with more than two decades of experience in the industry. He is currently EVP, Technical Operations and Administration at Gossamer Bio Inc. and has previously held executive positions at Ardea Biosciences, Inc., Receptos Inc. and Celgene Corporation.
