🌾 Ricult’s Tech Insight on Thai Sugarcane: Projected 82 Million Tons in 2023/24 🌾

Leveraging AI and satellite tech, Ricult assesses sugarcane production, offering precise forecasts nationwide in Thailand. With over 5 years of experience in yield assessment for leading sugar mills, we project 82M tons for the 2566/2567 season, indicating a 12.49% decrease YoY, with a per-acre yield drop of 11.88%, notably in the North and Central regions. This reduction is particularly notable in the Northern and Central regions.

🛰️ Insights from Above: A 0.75% Reduction in Cultivated Area

Leveraging satellite imagery technology to scrutinize sugarcane cultivation in 2021/22 and 2022/23 reveals a 0.75% reduction in cultivated areas. The prime driver behind this shift is the increased prevalence of competitive agricultural crops offering higher purchasing prices. A notable transition from sugarcane to alternative crops, especially cassava, is underway.

Ricult was chosen by the Thai Government as the leading agricultural innovation from Thailand to showcase at the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA 2024) Conference, one of the world’s largest informal conferences of agriculture ministers, with over 61 ministers from around the world attending. High-level representatives from more than ten international organizations, including the CFS, FAO, IFAD, OECD, WTO, and World Bank, also attended the conference.

Among the numerous attendees who visited our booth, Ricult was honored to have a private meeting with Mr. Thamanat Prompow, the Thailand Minister of Agriculture, and Ms. Claudia Muller, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Food and Agriculture of the European Union. They expressed great interest in bringing Ricult's technology to drive a more sustainable and resilient food supply chain in Thailand and Europe.
