Happy #NationalInternDay! This year, RXR's summer intern program has been full of programming including departmental workshops and property tours, including a very special session with RXR's Chairman and CEO Scott Rechler.

On Wednesday, July 24, real estate owner, operator and developer RXR hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Two Clinton Park, its newest and most luxurious residential tower in downtown New Rochelle. 

Located at 50 Clinton Place, Two Clinton Park offers 390 apartments, ranging from studios to three-bedroom penthouses. The tower has nearly 24,000 square feet of amenities and more than 7,500 square feet of retail space, with views of the Long Island Sound, spacious layouts and high-end finishes.  

Among those who attended the opening were Joe Graziose, executive vice president of development services, RXR ; Yadira Ramos-Herbert, New Rochelle mayor ; Wilfredo Melendez, acting city manager ; Adam Salgado, development commissioner ; Paul Vacca, commissioner of buildings ; Jorge Ventura, deputy commissioner of development ; and members of the city council.

I recently joined Alix Steel and Paul Sweeney on Bloomberg Intelligence to discuss the current state of commercial real estate.

In this segment, I share my perspective on the industry’s journey through what I call the “five stages of grief.” We’ve now reached the stage of acceptance: interest rates aren’t dropping, and values will not be bouncing back. The industry faces a day of reckoning, presenting both challenges and opportunities.

At RXR, we believe the best time to start investing is before the “all clear” signal is given. We are on the cusp of a once-in-a-generation investment environment. However, this isn’t the moment for large macro bets; it’s a time to be very strategic and selective—in other words, a “stock picker’s” market. Success in such markets isn’t just about having capital—it’s about having the expertise and capabilities to navigate complexities and create value.
