🌈Throwback to our staff #charity event in October🌈 On October 11, my colleagues and I #volunteered at "Dignity Kitchen" by Project Dignity Pte Ltd Left a deep and lasting impression on all of us; #Dignity is unrelated to status, gender, age, or physical condition—everyone deserves respect and recognition. At 65, Mr Seng Choon Koh continues his inspiring journey, taking on challenges few dare to. Through Dignity Kitchen, his social enterprise, he provides training for individuals with #special #needs to become self-sustaining hawkers. Listening to his story was nothing short of humbling. For over 13 years, Mr Koh has invested his resources and energy to uplift disadvantaged families, persevering despite countless challenges. Each time he considered stopping, he remembered the lives transformed, strengthened his resolve, and pressed on. In 2019, Dignity Kitchen opened a branch in Hong Kong, and Mr Koh now aims to support individuals with early-stage dementia, helping them reintegrate into society with dignity. I hope friends in Singapore and Hong Kong will support "Dignity Kitchen"—whether by enjoying breakfast or lunch at their Singapore branch which is within walking distance to Boon Keng MRT station, or by supporting this meaningful cause in other ways. Had a fantastic lunch catch-up with Cecilia HL Tan and Helen Qiu from Sasseur REIT, along with my colleague Joey Wu . It was so much fun reminiscing about our Mandarin seminar at SGX with financial advisors from China and Mandarin-speaking investors in Singapore. Sasseur REIT is always pushing the boundaries to engage investors and the public, which is why it's no surprise they snagged the Best IR award at the recent REITs & Real Estate Investment Summit Asia Pacific 2024. I remember having coffee (only coffee, no expensive meal 😉) with Cecilia a year ago, brainstorming about the challenges S-REITs face, especially with China-related listed companies post the S-chip saga. We both agreed that seeing the assets firsthand is way more convincing for investors than just presentations. Fast forward to today, Cecilia has teamed up with Chan Brothers Travel Pte Ltd to include property site visits in their tour packages. She even played "tour guide" on their inaugural trip! We also chatted about various #CSR projects to give back to society. Both of us believe in donating from the heart, not just for show. Sasseur Asset Management donated $2,000 to the Singapore Cancer Society through Financial Alliance Pte Ltd . We're excited to explore more meaningful CSR projects to support the needy in Singapore. Planning ahead, we’re organizing a site visit to Sasseur REIT Bishan Outlet next April when we visit Chongqing. Sasseur REIT will host a group of financial advisors from Singapore—another creative initiative to boost awareness about Sasseur REIT and maybe snag some luxury items at huge discounts! Sasseur REIT reported record-high aggregate sales during China's Golden Week holidays (1 - 7 October 2024): + Total sales: 276.1 million yuan (S$51 million) across four outlets in China Year-on-year increase: Nearly 28% + Increase compared to pre-pandemic 2019: Nearly 55% + Chongqing (Liangjiang) outlet was the top performer with 145.3 million yuan in sales, a 45% year-on-year increase. + Sales figures include non-Reit shop units for Sasseur Hefei Outlet (Reit's share is about 81% of total gross floor area). + Sasseur Reit's performance aligns with national trends, outperforming overall national retail sales revenue growth of 9%.
