Breakthrough in #hydrogentechnology! 💧

Our new Enertect high-performance coating system is used for metallic bipolar plates for fuel cells and electrolyzers. The innovative coating solution not only reduces CO₂ emissions by over 90 %, but also enables the use of more cost-effective steel instead of titanium. This development means a significant reduction in production costs and increases sustainability at the same time.

We're driving the expansion of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles! 🚗🔋

By 2030, over 5,000 charging points for EVs are to be established worldwide, with 3,000 of them in Europe. The project is part of Schaeffler’s sustainability program and aims to reduce CO2 emissions. As the project kicks off, 40 new charging points have been installed at the Herzogenaurach site, with an additional 245 planned by 2025. Schweinfurt plans to have 122 charging points by 2025.

You can now easily calculate the rating life of your Schaeffler planetary gear bearing supports using our free Bearinx-online tool “Easy Planet”. In accordance with DIN 281, ISO TS16281, the program calculates the bearing loads and speeds, the fatigue life as well as the static load safety factor and contact pressures from the geometry, gearing and operating data entered.

“Easy Planet” can be used to calculate single-stage and multi-stage planetary gear sets. The Schaeffler product database is accessed during bearing selection. Precise data such as bearing internal geometry, including the rolling element and raceway profiling, are retrieved there. You can save or print the calculation result for your files. 

“Easy Planet” is fully available online and can be used free of charge without restriction. After your initial registration and a positive check, you can start calculating straight away.

As part of the REASSERT project, Schaeffler is working with leading research institutions and industrial partners to develop advanced methods for the reuse of electric motors. 🔧♻️ The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. In this way, electric motors can be given a second life - and we successfully combine climate protection and economic efficiency.

The approach makes it possible to replace defective components, reuse entire motors or remanufacture them to match the quality and performance of new parts. Through these innovative techniques, Schaeffler aims to reduce the impact on the environment and maximize efficiency in the use of valuable resources.
