Yesterday afternoon together with about 70 maritime technology stakeholders in the ecosystem we had 'hi-tea' to celebrate what we consider as our "collective milestone". 

After all, digitalizing the maritime supply chain is a collective movement.

Mr. Kenneth Lim of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) kindly and aptly described ours as 𝐚 𝟖-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (& 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞), 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (& 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (& 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥ism).

Not sure if this is the end of the VC.

But we became the world's first maritime-dedicated venture studio mainly by chance and due to necessity about 8 years ago.

When we started, our founders first researched deeply on why few maritime startups succeeded.

Through their own experimentations developing over a dozen innovative products, it was necessary to infuse ultra-high intensity and frequency domain-knowledge & input in the development scrums that the ecosystem could not offer.

This is especially challenging for the early stage startups that have to grapple with limited resource while trying to succeed from 0 to 1 in the maritime supply chain innovation before they run out of runway.

Before too soon, we were already operating as a venture studio with the rare combination of key resources: entrepreneurship (clear vision & incessant drive); talents; technology; domain knowledge; industry & corporate network, funding; etc. together.

By no means this is it. We're still experimenting. Every day is Day 1, until we see a digital maritime supply chain that delivers.
