The whisky tasting event at E-Center Schwaig was a thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining, and highly informative evening. It was a wonderful opportunity to dive deep into the craft of Bavarian whisky, exploring the unique flavors and styles of SLYRS distillery. Each whisky had its own personality, and the expert guidance made the experience even more engaging and enlightening. 1. SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Classic 43% vol. This whisky opens with a warm nose of honey, vanilla, and light oak. On the palate, it’s wonderfully balanced with flavors of ripe apples, caramel, and a hint of baking spices, all leading to a soft, lingering finish. It’s a versatile whisky, perfect for both casual sipping and pairing with food. 2. SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Fifty One 51% vol. With its higher alcohol content, this whisky is bold and assertive. The nose is rich with dried fruits, cocoa, and spicy oak. On the palate, it reveals layers of dark chocolate, prunes, and cinnamon, with a warming, long finish. Despite its strength, it remains smooth, showcasing a masterful balance of power and refinement. 3. SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish 46% vol. A standout whisky, enhanced by its aging in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The nose is intoxicating with aromas of dried figs, raisins, and rich toffee. The palate is equally luxurious, with dark fruits, caramel, and a silky mouthfeel that leaves a sweet, lingering finish. A truly indulgent whisky. 4. SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Rum Cask Finish 46% vol. This whisky brings a unique twist with its rum cask finish, offering a sweet and exotic profile. Aromas of tropical fruits, molasses, and vanilla greet you on the nose, while the palate delivers hints of banana, coconut, and a creamy, smooth texture. It’s a delightful combination of sweetness and complexity. 5. SLYRS MALT Whisky 40% vol. This is a lighter, more approachable whisky, with delicate aromas of malted barley, cereal grains, and a touch of citrus. On the palate, it’s soft and creamy, with hints of vanilla, fresh grass, and a subtle sweetness. It’s an easy-drinking whisky that’s perfect for newcomers or those who prefer a milder profile. 6. SLYRS Bavarian RYE Whisky 41% vol. Distinctively spicier, this rye whisky offers a vibrant nose of pepper, herbs, and oak. The palate is lively, with strong notes of black pepper, clove, and rye grain, balanced by a slight sweetness and a crisp, dry finish. It’s a whisky with character, appealing to those who enjoy a bold, spicy profile. The evening was filled with laughter, fascinating conversations, and the chance to appreciate the craftsmanship behind SLYRS whiskies. The variety of flavors and styles on display made for a memorable and highly enjoyable experience, deepening our understanding and appreciation for Bavarian whisky.

Die charaktervolle und doch feine Komposition richtet sich speziell an Bartender und Liebhaber kräftiger Whiskys. Mit einer Trinkstärke von 48% bietet der Bavarian RYE Whisky Forty Eight eine robuste Basis für Cocktails und bleibt dennoch die authentische Essenz des SLYRS Handwerks. Geschäftsführer Hans Kemenater hat gemeinsam mit seinem jungen Destillateurs-Team aus viel Zeit in die Komposition der neuen Variante des RYE investiert: „Der SLYRS Bavarian RYE Whisky Forty Eight ist eine Hommage an die Künstler hinter den Tresen.
