❓ Have you heard of the New Bridge of the Orléans Island (nouveau Pont de l’Île d’Orléans) in Québec, Canada? ❓ Here are some interesting facts: 🔹2-pylon cable-stayed bridge 🔹 more than 2 km long with a 430 m long main span 🔹 will cross the Saint Laurent River with a 2-lane road with 3.5 m wide carriageways, 2.5 m wide hard shoulders and 3.0 m wide multi-functional paths 🔹 for a combined cycling and pedestrian use at the outsides 🔹 in the main span there is a shipping channel of approx. 183 x 30 m The project is carried out by the MTMD ( Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec (MTMD) ) and was assigned for design and build to Groupe Héritage Île-d’Orléans S.E.N.C., a consortium composed by the contractors EBC Inc. and Dragados Canada, Inc. , and the designers TYLin and AtkinsRéalis .
